Anna Lang’s music draws compositional influence from the rhythms and timbres of jazz and improvised music, while also artfully incorporating the rich foundation of her classical instrumental training. Above all, Anna Lang’s solo program expresses her creative passion for creating something new and her enthusiasm for other art forms, such as visual art, dance, and theater. At the same time, masterpieces of the cello repertoire are skillfully woven into the program, allowing them to shine with a refreshing new brilliance.
“Images, whether moving or still, have always been the inspiration for my musical work. The magic of theater and film has always held a great fascination for me. Having grown up surrounded by the artistic output of three generations of artists, it comes naturally to me to translate this powerful inspiration from the visual and dramatic arts into sound. In the project titled Colours Of Drama, the sources of inspiration are selected drawings and lithographs by my grandfather, Erwin Lang. They are role portraits of dancers." (Anna Lang)
